Kongsberg Automotive Fluid Transfer Systems are proud to introduce the DNV GL Range – Our brand new hose range that is approved for installation on all vessels classed by DNV GL.
Safety at sea is one of the most demanding applications on the planet and requires the use of proven products that meet safety and performance criteria that will ultimately save lives in the event of an emergency.
Because of the isolated and vulnerable environments covering working and living conditions at sea it is critical that safety critical products used on ships and offshore facilities are of a known quality, have been manufactured correctly and are safe to use in approved applications under emergency conditions.
International conventions and requirements exist to ensure that products used at sea are tested and approved to meet these pre-defined criteria. To ensure that products meet these requirements a number of International third party accreditation agencies exist. These third party accreditation agencies ensure the compliance against these requirements by ongoing audits and verification of the manufacture of products. When a product has been fully tested and verified and is found to meet the required criteria it will be given the official status of being awarded Type Approved (TA).
Use of TA products and the correct assembly by approved manufactures with the relevant test documentation allows products to be sourced and sold for the use in Maritime and offshore applications.
The introduction of the new Marine DNV GL approved range of PTFE hose from Kongsberg Automotive allows end-users confidence that the selection and use of KA PTFE hose assemblies meet the performance and safety criteria demand for use on ships and offshore facilities. The manufacture by approved assemblers using TA products ensure PTFE hose assemblies can be supplied with confidence to this demanding market segment.
