Process PTFE Hose Range

Kongsberg Automotive process PTFE hoses are used in the most demanding applications and are manufactured to the highest ISO & IATF quality standards. KA PTFE hose products such as UltiCrimp® (SBC) Convo-Flex (Convoluted) are designed for aggressive & hazardous chemical substances used in loading, unloading and manufacturing in Chemical & Petro-chemical plants, process purity conditions in Pharmaceutical & Bio-technology suites and in transfer & filling lines for Food, Beverage & Cosmetics manufacturing.

UltiCrimp® & Convo-Flex process PTFE hoses are available from Kongsberg Automotive as bulk hose for self-assembly or as complete hose assemblies with Flared, Tafted or Encapsulated end fittings to improve cleanliness, remove or reduce bug traps and improve the ability to clean in place (CIP) & steam in place (SIP). The PTFE liner, available in Virgin (Natural) or Anti-static (Carbon) is extended through the end fitting, then flared out against the sealing face of the fitting. Therefore, the media passing through the hose contacts only the chemically resistant PTFE liner ‘wetted parts’.

This eliminates the potential problem of corrosion to the end fitting terminations and In addition, the inner surface of PTFE lined fittings is uniform, smooth, and without fluid entrapment areas which lead to potential for ‘bug traps’ leading to bacterial growth, ensuring Kongsberg Automotive PTFE lined hose products comply with the strictest process hygiene expectations, levels & standards.

At every stage of manufacture, strict quality controls are applied in adherence to our ISO and IATF held accreditations. To complement this, we provide full design support to our customers worldwide, we offer the highest level of technical advice for both product selection and application, giving the most cost-effective PTFE hose solution. Comprehensive in-house testing facilities in our laboratories are available to our customers, they include: Hydrostatic, Volumetric Expansion, Salt Spray, Tensile & Impulse testing. Engineered safety and a dedicated approach to continuous improvement have contributed to the successful development of one of the most comprehensive ranges of flexible PTFE hose found anywhere in the world.

• Production materials are verified by supplier certification and strictly controlled by trained quality assurance engineers. Approved suppliers are selected by supplier audits and are regularly monitored to ensure supplied material meets the required quality level.
• Quality empowered staff set up machines and then monitor critical characteristics with support from the laboratory test facility and dedicated state of the art measuring technology.
• Trained operators are responsible for providing both product integrity and accurate process control. They utilise some of the most modern braiding and extrusion technology available to produce a superior quality product.
• Every shipment of hose produced is identified by an individual label incorporating codes for date of manufacture and material batch serial numbers.
• Independent product verification tests are carried out in our own fully equipped test laboratory. These facilities are also available for customer specific tests as defined in the order.
